چکیده
Abstract Background Upland cotton ( Gossypium hirsutum ) accounts for more than 90% of the annual world output because its high yield potential. However, and fiber quality traits often show negative correlations. We constructed four F 2 populations upland cotton, using two normal lines (4133B SGK9708) with potential but moderate introgression (Suyuan04–3 J02–247) superior quality, used them to investigate genetic basis underlying complex such as in cotton. also phenotyped eight agronomic economic mapped quantitative trait loci (QTLs). Results Extensive phenotype variations transgressive segregation were found across populations. maps 585.97 centiMorgan (cM), 752.45 cM, 1 163.66 one each Fifty QTLs identified (7 plant height, 27 16 yield). The same different populations, including qBW4 qBW2, which linked a common simple sequence repeat (SSR) marker, NAU1255. A QTL cluster containing six was characterized on linkage group 9 4133B × Suyuan04–3 population. Conclusions These findings will provide insights into simultaneous improvement breeding.

QTL Mapping for Fiber and Yield Traits in Upland Cotton under Multiple Environments
A population of 178 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was developed using a single seed descendant from a cross between G. hirsutum. acc DH962 and G. hirsutum. cv Jimian5, was used to construct a genetic map and to map QTL for fiber and yield traits. A total of 644 polymorphic loci were used to construct a final genetic map, containing 616 loci and spanning 2016.44 cM, with an average of 3.27 cM ...

Making use of the markers linked closely to QTL for early-maturing traits for MAS (Marker-assisted selection) is an effective method for the simultaneous improvement of early maturity and other properties in cotton. In this study, two F2 populations and their F2:3 families were generated from the two upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crosses, Baimian2 × TM-1 and Baimian2 × CIR12. QTL for ea...
متن کاملIdentification of QTL for Fiber Quality and Yield Traits Using Two Immortalized Backcross Populations in Upland Cotton
Two immortalized backcross populations (DHBCF1s and JMBCF1s) were developed using a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population crossed with the two parents DH962 and Jimian5 (as the males), respectively. The fiber quality and yield component traits of the two backcross populations were phenotyped at four environments (two locations, two years). One hundred seventy-eight quantitative trait loci (Q...
متن کاملHigh-density genetic linkage map construction by F2 populations and QTL analysis of early-maturity traits in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)
Due to China's rapidly increasing population, the total arable land area has dramatically decreased; as a consequence, the competition for farming land allocated for grain and cotton production has become fierce. Therefore, to overcome the existing contradiction between cotton grain and fiber production and the limited farming land, development of early-maturing cultivars is necessary. In this ...
متن کاملHeritability and Correlations of Agronomic and Fiber Traits in an Okra-Leaf Upland Cotton Population
In cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.), the cost and time to develop and evaluate appropriate genetic populations have limited the number of intensive and complete heritability studies. Herein, three agronomic and 17 fiber quality traits were assessed for heritability and correlation analyses on progeny rows in an okra-leaf cotton population of 208 families. Progenies were advanced in succeeding gen...
